Question 1What is Barbershop Harmony?

Answer: In simple terms, barbershop harmony is vocal harmony produced by four parts: lead, tenor, baritone and bass. It is different from any other kind of choral or group singing.

2. How often do you practice? 

Answer: We skip a few weeks over the Christmas Holidays, but we practice almost every Tuesday.

 Question 3. How well do I have to sing?

Answer:  Although lots of Sweet Adelines are accomplished solo singers, most of us just have normal singing ability.  If you have the ability to carry a tune, we can teach you the rest.

4.  How do I get started?

Answer:  Join us any Tuesday night at 7:00 PM in Horticulture Hall on Broad Street in Lake Geneva.  We’ll have you on the risers and singing with us on your first visit.

  How many women are in Sweet Adeline's International?

Answer: There are about 30,000 women, all singing in English, which includes choruses in most of the fifty United States as well as in Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, Wales and the Netherlands. There are also prospective choruses in Denmark, Greece and the United Arab Emirates. The organization encompasses more than 1,200 registered quartets and 600 choruses.

Answer:  We currently have about 40 women in our chorus.
